Dr. Robert Bailey – Notice of Medical Practice Closure

Dear patients:

It is with a heavy heart I announce my resignation as a medical practitioner in Rocky Mountain House.

After moving from South Africa in 2016 I have thoroughly enjoyed practicing in Rocky Mountain House and developed great relationships with both my patients and the community at large.

I have made every effort to stay a part of this community and have been following due process for the last 17 months in order for me to accomplish this. My surgical practice has been constrained by restrictions on the scope of practice.

As many of you know; In the last year I have been working as a locum monthly in other towns to maintain my surgical skills as an independent GP Surgeon. I thank my patients and fellow colleagues for their understanding during this period. I have realized doing these locums is not feasible in the long-term and will not be sustainable for my patients, colleagues, or growing family.

What this would mean for my patients is that I will be closing my practice in August 2021. Some of the current physicians, and newly recruited physicians joining the clinic in the coming months, will be taking on new patients and this will allow continued access to care. I would encourage my patients to contact the clinic for more information about physician availability.

For a copy of your medical records contact the office at Rocky Medical Clinic.

A letter will be mailed to all Dr Bailey’s patients at their current address listed on the clinic EMR.
